Google Operating System…

The California based computer giant strikes again !!! This time they are armed with an operating system called Google Chrome OS. This project is an extension of Google Chrome project which will redefine Operating System basics. Google Chrome OS is an open source project which is faster and light weight. The OS is mainly aim the fast growing Netbook market and will be available by the mid of 2010. Google says the the project is an attempt to re-think what operating systems should be. Same as that of the popular Google products, this OS mainly concentrate  on three key factors; Simplicity, Security and Speed. The project will redesign the underlying security features of the conventional operating system so that the user will not be much worried about the virus, malware attacks.


The system will work on both the x86 and ARM architectures. As per the details given by the google officials, the OS will have a new window system which works over the so called Linux kernel. Application developers can develop new applications using the popular web technologies which will also compatible with other browsers. What Google says about the launch of their new operating system is –

Computers need to get better. People want to get to their email instantly, without wasting time waiting for their computers to boot and browsers to start up. They want their computers to always run as fast as when they first bought them. They want their data to be accessible to them wherever they are and not have to worry about losing their computer or forgetting to back up files. Even more importantly, they don’t want to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware, or have to worry about constant software updates. And any time our users have a better computing experience, Google benefits as well by having happier users who are more likely to spend time on the Internet.
